  1. Sorry for your troubles. My wife is sick as well. I wish you well.

My name is Arnie Slater I live in the USA. I have been doing family research through Ancestry.com. I think we may be distantly related. My 2nd great grandfather was named Besse Torkelson from Sund Norway...I think our connection works like this
    Relationship chart for Øyvind Sevilhaug
    - his mother: Sylvi Amalia Bjelkarøy (1915-2006)
    - her father: Gunvald Didrikson Bjelkarøy (1888-1957)
    - his father: Didrik Torkelson Bjelkarøy (1856-1930) - Besse's brother

I don't want to bother you...I just wanted to say hello. Norway is my favorite place on earth! I have made connections on another branch of my great grandmothers tree as well in Stord and Stavanger. Anyway, I hope I am right.

    1. How nice to hear from you, Arnie. Sorry that your wife is sick, though. And I'm sorry I haven't replied sooner. I'm not used to getting comments on the blog, so I don't check it very regularly.

But we are most certainly related. All the facts you have provided, are correct. I have always known that some relative(s) on my mother's side emigrated to the USA, but I have never known any details. It's nice to know that I have a relative in the US. Let us keep in touch. It's no bother. I do have this cancer going on, and lots of troubles connected with it, but I don't really feel sick - most of the time.
